How to Find a Job

On this page, you will find resources and information about how to begin your job search and what support you need to find a job.

WANT TO WORK?

The I Want To Work workbook is designed to assist people with intellectual disabilities to gather the information that they can use to obtain employment. After completing the I Want To Work workbook, a person will:

  • have identified two areas of interest in which they would like to work,
  • have a work support document, and
  • have a résumé.

I Want To Work Workbook

It is recommended that those completing the I Want To Work workbook do so with a partner who knows them well. The I Want To Work Partner Guide provides guidance and instruction to the person’s workbook partner on how to get the most useful information from the workbook. The workbook partner should be someone who knows the person who is familiar with a person’s routines, likes, dislikes, interests, and work history.
